Activities For Teaching Resume Writing

Activities For Teaching Resume WritingIn the job market today, one of the most important activities for teaching resume writing is to draw attention to the skills of your students. If the job posting lists some of the qualities that you offer as a teacher, let those skills come to the forefront. With resume writing, we are able to attract the attention of potential employers because these qualities are essential.Resume writing could be divided into two categories: learning skills and teaching skills. In both categories, there are three basic actions needed. Second, you need to give your best efforts in your job search, by arranging for interviews, applying for jobs, searching for suitable jobs and teaching resume writing accordingly.Writing a resume can be done over again, as long as it focuses on what you can do as a teacher. Th is way, it will remain an important document for the rest of your career. There are many methods in which this can be done. For example, one idea is to start off by listing the areas where you excel, so that the employer is presented with only what he or she can count on. Another idea is to show the personal qualities that are to be expected of teachers, while also highlighting the specific areas where you can make an impact. The third way would be to make a combination of these ideas, that is, to focus on your strengths and weaknesses.Activities for teaching resume writing should also involve conducting interviews. These interviews will give an opportunity to your employer to understand more about you. They will be able to see whether you are the right person for the job. Thro ugh these interviews, you will also be able to discover if you have what it takes to deal with the challenges of teaching in today's teaching world. And if you do, then you can get an even better position. But, before applying for the teaching job, you need to prepare yourself, because even after being interviewed, the decision still lies with the employer. Before going into the application process, make sure that you have gathered information about the job as well as the role that you will play in the institution that will be hiring you. You should also have a clear idea about the process involved in doing this job.Whatever the activities for teaching resume writing is, it is important to remember that you have to try your best to do so. As a result, you will end up attracting the attention of people who want you as a teacher.

Apple CEO Tim Cook Wakes Up Every Day at 4 a.m. Here’s the First Thing He Does It helps to get up before dawn if you run the world’s most valuable company. Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed in an interview with Axios’s Ina Fried and Mike Allen that he gets up before 4 a.m. on a daily basis. But what he does next might surprise you â€" he reads email from Apple users and “external people” for an hour, he said. Then he goes to the gym and gets a workout in, which he says helps reduce stress. “I rise a bit before four, I like to take the first hour and go through user comments and things like that, and sort of focus on the external people that are so important to us. Then I go to the gym and work out for an hour because it keeps my stress at bay,” Cook said in the interview, which also touched on tech addiction, regulation, and augmented reality. By the time Cook’s morning routine is done, California is waking up, and Cook is ready to start his day â€" which reportedly includes over 700 to 800 emails he gets per day. He’s said he reads “the majority” of those messages and it’s been reported that Cook emails employees “at all hours.” Cook reportedly likes to catch seven hours of sleep per night, so that means he’d typically have to go to bed by 8:45 p.m. to get enough shut-eye. How much less are you willing to take, and what will you do instead if you decide to walk away?If you already have a job, you could just stay put and look for other, more lucrative opportunities. Whats in a name

Whats in a nameWhats in a nameKeep your professional name consistent across all business channels. With Mothers Day quickly approaching, Ladders conducted a study that will give soon-to-bemoms and dads something to think about when naming their children. The study showed that on average, the shorter your first name, the more you will earn. In fact, every letter added to your first name accounted for a $3,600 drop in annual salary. Theres no rule of thumb about using your nickname versus your proper name, but if the results of this study are any indication, Roberts may want to consider going by Bob or Rob professionally. However you choose to represent your name, make it consistent across every business channel, including your professional online profiles, resume, business cards, and email signature. Here are three tips to polish your professional brand across every channel.Online presenceA Jobvite social recruiting survey found that 85 percent of HR professionals and recruiters said tha t a positive online presence has influenced a hiring decision. On the flip side, 70 percent have turned down a candidate based on something they found about them online. Clean up your online presence and utilize social media to build a professional online brand that supports your job goals by highlighting your relevant work experience and skill tischsets. If your name is fairly common, like Mike Johnson, consider including your middle initial on all of your branding materials.ResumeMake it easy for recruiters to contact you by including only one phone number and email address on your resume. I recommend using your cell phone since you have control over the voicemail, who picks up the phone and when. Use a professional email address that isnt considered outdated, such as Gmail. Steer clear of cutesy, offensive, flirtatious or sexual addresses, or addresses shared by family members, as they send hiring managers the wrong message. Include links to your professional profiles in your res ume so recruiters dont have to guess or mistake you for someone else.Business cardsIf youre currently unemployed or searching on the sly, I highly recommend creating business cards that use your personal contact information. You can get a nice set from companies like GoPrint for less than fifty bucks, or opt for a greener solution by downloading an app to digitize your business cards. Keep at least five cards on you at all times you never know when an impromptu networking opportunity might take place. As a job seeker, you instantly become a marketer and salesperson. Your online presence, your resume, and how you represent yourself during networking opportunities are all part of an effective advertising campaign. Actively monitor and manage your brand to ensure consistent positioning, whether your name is Benjamin, Bradley or Bob.Click on the following link to learn more about Ladders study on first names.

Elon Musks time blocking method Manage time effectively

Elon Musks time blocking method Manage time effectivelyElon Musks time blocking method Manage time effectivelyElon Musk is possibly the busiest man on earth right now.The billionaire founder and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, usually spends up to 100 hours a week on both companies - whilst plotting to transport humans to mars and chowing down lunch meals within 5 minutes before getting back to his work.Musk is also a family man who spends up to four days each week with his five children. He also manages to find time for regular exercise two times a week, as well as on his personal hobbies. How does a mere human being manage their time so effectively to stay highly productive on such a busy, hectic schedule? Some people would point to Elon Musks superhuman ability to focus without distractions or his freakish level of genius. But, theres a better explanation for his highly effective time management. This is a method called time blocking, which has been used by other CEOs and productivity expe rts including Bill Gates and Cal Newport.Ladders is now on SmartNewsDownload the SmartNews app and add the Ladders channel to read the latest career news and advice wherever you go.Lets discuss more about this time blocking method and how you can use this to manage your time better even if your schedule is busy and hectic.Managing time better with time blockingFrom the second Elon Musks head lifts off his bedroom pillow at 7 a.m., his day has already been pre-planned in advance. Theres no room for random interruptions - there are no blocks of time left unscheduled.Using the time blocking method, Musk intentionally plans his day out in five-minute increments or time blocks. Each time block is assigned with a specific task or activity. For example, Musk could use the time blocking method when responding to overdue emails, eating meals or timing work meetings.Time management expert, Kevin Kruse, also suggests through his research shown within his book, 15 Secrets Successful People Know About Time Management, that top performers organize their day through time blocks instead of to-do lists.I personally use the time blocking method daily in combination with the 2-minute rule to stop welchesting time by procrastinating and stay productive throughout my day.For some tasks- like writing the draft of this article - Id use the time blocking method to create 24, 5-minute blocks (that adds up to 2 hours).Unfortunately, as simple as this method may seem, it has its fair share of criticism or objections to why you should use this for time management. One major criticism is that scheduling every time slot in your day will be too robotic and tedious, but this misses the purpose of time blocking.Time blocking forces you to fill up free time with pre-commitments and a plan of action. In doing so, you would also avoid the effects of the Parkinsons law which states that work tends to expand to fill the time allotted for it.In other words, youre more likely to be productive on a g iven task the less time you have to get it done.Another benefit of time blocking is that it reduces the number of choices youd have to make in any given moment - boosting your willpower for peak productivity. If youre somewhat now convinced about the time boxing method, heres a simple way to apply this in your life today. How to use the time blocking methodHere are 3 simple and easy steps to apply the time blocking method.Step 1 Divide a piece of ruled paper into two columns. On the left column allocate every two lines to each hour or 5-minute block of the day (whichever you prefer).Step 2 Estimate the amount of time each task is going to take to complete, then write these tasks on the left column with their respective time blocks. Optional add commentary notes in the corresponding right column.Step 3 Add buffer times or extra room around each time block to allow for adjustments or unexpected activities.Thats it. Its that simple. There are a few concerns or success factors to discuss briefly.Ideally, to achieve effective time blocking, you should spend up to 10 minutes the previous evening completing your time blocks for the next day.Its also important that as much as possible in Step 2 above, you avoid the mental optimistic bias of underestimating how long the completion of a task would require. When were too optimistic about how long a given task is going to take, we fail to completely follow through on what we set out to do.This bias (also known as the planning fallacy) can be avoided by simply keeping a timed record of how long your daily activities take to complete. For example, when I first started to introduce sprint training into my weekly exercise routine, Id time each of my sessions for a month. On average, I estimated that a full sprint workout would last for 15 minutes. This estimation helped me to effectively time block in my daily schedule. On another note, as it should go without saying, the bigger your task load, the more difficult it would be to us e the time blocking method. Conversely, the smaller the task at hand, the easier it will be to fit into a small 5-minute time block slot.If you have bigger tasks to complete that may require a long time to complete, simply break these down into smaller subtasks and slot them into your time blocks. Finally, make sure to ensure that your time blocking plan will help you to manage and deal with interruptions effectively. The best way to do this is to use the right column of the piece of paper to revise your plan should there be changes or interruptions during the day.At the same time, designate or create buffer time blocks on your schedule for interruptions as noted in Step 3.Time blocking for reactive work in this way could also help you to avoid overwhelm, reduce stress and stay focused throughout the day.Block your time or lose it foreverWe all have the same 24 hours in any given day. The difference between those who get a lot done, like Elon Musk, versus those who dont isnt intellect or genetics - its a combination of a mindset that values time and an effective time management method like time blocking.Time blocking is a simple, flexible and effective way to help you to manage your time better and stay productive on a daily basis. The purpose of time blocking isnt to perfectly complete each and every task planned for the day. The purpose is to encourage us to make plans that will help us to take charge of the direction of your lives. Most importantly, time blocking helps us to take control of our time - which once lost, we can never get back.Mayo Oshin writes atMayoOshin.com, where he shares practical self-improvement ideas and proven science for better health, productivity and creativity. To get practical ideas on how to stop procrastinating and build healthy habits, you can join his free weekly newsletterhere.A version of thisarticleoriginally appeared atmayooshin.comas Elon Musks Time Blocking Method How to Manage Time Effectively Even If Your Schedule Is Hec tic.Footnotes.bxc.bx-campaign-1012255 .bx-group-1012255-lyDBLV9 width 900pxheight 550pxInformation on Elon Musk was found at various sources.
